0.9.2latest

The hero's aura becomes the flame drawn by the author, at any moment and in the colors you choose.

New

  • Dismantle weapons: in the Forge tab, every weapon in the Backpack can become coins, one at a time or all of them. The equipped weapon always stays. Epic or better, and "All", ask for confirmation. Mythic weapons too.
  • Gold and dismantling achievements: eight new achievements (from Small change to Gold vault, from First dismantle to Master dismantler, No attachment and Scrapyard). They only count from now on.

Improved

  • Flame aura: the supporter aura is now the flame drawn by the author, in the color you pick (orange, gold, red, green, blue or purple). It shows in everything the hero does, in the ending scenes and on the Sheet.

Notices

  • Nothing changes in your save.

0.9.1

The hero gets colors for each piece, an aura and a trail in place of heads, walks and draws the bow for real, and rare places become as rare as the rain.

New

  • Hero colors: in Settings, Sheet, pick a color for each piece of the hero (helmet and armor, horns, fur pauldron, cape and leather) or a ready-made set (Gold and red, Black and green, Ice, Blood, Forest, Dusk). It is a supporter cosmetic; the Platinum color is free for anyone who has every achievement.
  • Aura and trail: a glow around the hero and colored dust as he walks, also for supporters. In calm focus the aura gets faint and the trail disappears.
  • Walking with the bow: with the bow equipped, the hero walks with the bow on the back, in a new animation, with the epic bow and the other rarities (rare, legendary and mythic) in their own colors.
  • Drawing and stowing the bow: when a bow fight starts, the hero pulls the bow off the back while the monster approaches; after winning, the bow goes back on the back.

Improved

  • Weapon defense: the defense of the equipped weapon now matches what the Sheet shows. Rounding used to make Rare and Epic weapons barely reduce damage; now the lost fraction carries over to the next hits, and a hit can be fully blocked.
  • Security: the game windows only run the app's own scripts (content security policy). Imported saves are checked when opened (names, numbers and items), text coming from the save is escaped, the game's links only open the right addresses, and the game rejects malformed actions.
  • Harder achievements: Herbalist now asks for 100 herbs, Potion rush 15 potions and Rain friend 15 rains. If you already earned them, you keep them.

Fixed

  • Rare places: Tombs, the Rune shrine, the Watchtower and the Old outpost are now truly rare, like the rain: about one every hour and a half of open game, and never two in a row.
  • "While you were away" card: it now always opens in the middle of the window, so it never cuts off your finds, and it only shows after 1 hour away (it used to be 10 minutes).
  • Drop rarity: the roll weights now add up to 100 and match the real chance (73% common and 27% rare).

Notices

  • Supporter heads are gone; hero colors take their place. If you had picked a head, the hero goes back to wearing the helmet.
  • Your save keeps working. It only gains a list of the achievements you already had, so you do not lose them.

0.9.0

The hero can be woken by a monster, trip, celebrate by dancing, truly fall when knocked out, and palisade gates appear on the path.

New

  • Woken in the night: while sleeping or resting by the campfire, a monster sometimes wanders close and the hero wakes up. Most of the time it is just a scare: the monster passes, the hero watches, makes a comment and goes back to sleep. More rarely the hero wakes up and fights.
  • Tripping: very rarely, while walking, the hero trips, crouches and gets back up, with a comment.
  • Dancing while walking: when leveling up or finishing a focus, the hero sometimes celebrates by dancing as it walks.
  • Palisade gates: two new scenes on the path, a gate with ox skulls alone or beside a campfire, crates and weapons.
  • A real fall: when knocked out, the hero falls or kneels and stays down before the skull appears.

Improved

  • Timeline and "while you were away" card: they note when the hero was woken by a monster.

Fixed

  • Head while fishing: in the frames where the hero reels in the fish, the chosen head no longer floats away from the body.

Notices

  • Today's supporter heads are temporary: they will be redrawn from scratch, one by one, to fit the hero better in every animation.
  • Nothing changes in your save.

0.8.0

New settings (a compact menu, the hero Sheet and the adventure Diary), English, a wardrobe with new heads and a bilingual website.

New

  • English: the game, the settings, the tray menu and the website now speak English and Portuguese. The language follows Windows and can be changed in Settings, Language.
  • Compact menu: three named areas, Focus, Character and Settings, showing only the items of the open area. The window is now 780 by 620.
  • Hero sheet: head and weapon slots, attack, defense and crit runes with the real numbers, health and XP bars like the ones in the game and a wardrobe with every head. Numbers and Bury sit behind buttons.
  • Adventure Diary: your story in pages, with a scene for each day built from the game art, and the timeline inside it.
  • Audio tab: music and sound effects got a tab of their own.
  • Aura on rare weapons: epic, legendary and mythic swords, bows and spears glow in the Backpack, the Forge and the Sheet.
  • Campfire in Habit: the game campfire lights up when you mark the day.
  • A new head: the Druid.

Improved

  • Style: scenery theme and window frame together, in the same place.
  • Achievements: cards in two columns.
  • Attack and defense: the game and the Sheet use the same math, so the number you see is the one that counts.
  • Heads: all heads were redrawn on a 25 by 25 canvas and can be tuned by hand in the game files.

Fixed

  • Heads in every animation: sleeping, resting by the campfire, fishing, jumping, the status effects (bleeding, freezing, shock, lightning, knockback, stone) and the endings now show the head you picked instead of the helmet.
  • Speech bubbles: monster lines and the hero's reminder sit lower and no longer get cut off at the top of the window, even with a frame.
  • Spear with a head: the spear no longer loses its shaft and tip beside a supporter head.
  • Endings: Choked on an herb (poisoned and crouching), Fell asleep fishing (the animation was broken), Lost to a sheep (smaller sheep, hero pushed back), Struck down mid rain dance (a real dance and a real bolt), Turned to stone (stone effect) and Became a constellation (freeze effect, in gold).

Notices

  • Nothing changes in your save.

0.7.0

The hero reacts to what happens (freezes, bleeds, gets struck by lightning, really drinks a potion), there is an adventure Timeline, Habit gets its own tab, bosses grow bigger and new achievements arrive.

New

  • Hero states: when the right monster hits, the hero reacts and suffers a short effect. The ghost freezes (slow for 6 s), the dagger goblin poisons (5 ticks of damage and no regeneration for 15 s), the wolf and the axe skeleton cause bleeding (3 ticks of damage), the demon shocks (stunned for 1.5 s). Legendary boss hits push the hero and mythic boss hits throw it backwards. When it suffers, a small text floats up, and each tick plays the animation again. Bleeding and poison can knock the hero out, and a potion cures them.
  • Lightning in the rain: very rare. A thin bolt falls from the sky and knocks the hero down at once (direct knockout).
  • Really drinking a potion: with health below 50%, free and with a potion in the backpack, the hero drinks and heals 30.
  • Adventure Timeline: a new tab with the events worth a line: levels, rare monsters, first victories, epic items, achievements, places and critters seen for the first time, guardians, focuses and lightning.
  • Habit tab: in place of the Stopwatch, in Focus. The habit card left the Focus tab.
  • Exploration achievements: places visited, guardians, species discovered and critters spotted.
  • Fluke achievements: lightning, bleeding or poison until knockout, the shortest and longest possible nap and fishing trip (they do not count toward unlocking Bury).
  • Tombs with tombstones: if you have already buried a hero, the scene may show its tombstone and epitaph.

Improved

  • Bigger bosses: legendary and mythic monsters show up 10% bigger.
  • Soft auras: the auras of rare, epic, legendary and mythic monsters are now a soft glow, without dots.
  • Old crow: the crow went back to the old art (the same as in the statue ending).
  • Smaller frog: 3 times smaller, with a shorter hop.
  • Weapon damage: the Backpack shows the base damage of each weapon type and the rarity multiplier.
  • Livelier monsters: whoever knocks the hero out talks and walks away, and passing monsters keep their line until they leave the screen.
  • More natural hero reactions: the facepalm slaps the face and stays down, the laugh moves the shoulders, the scratch keeps the hand behind the head and the wave sways the hand sideways.
  • Habit: the mark button matches the rest, and the hero waits a bit before commenting on a new habit.
  • Healing with an icon: the rising health number shows the potion or herb icon.
  • Knockout skull smaller, at the size of the old one.
  • Halloween: the pumpkins got darker.

Fixed

  • HUD bars: the health and XP bars now show the right value (before they looked full at about 85% and the rest was hidden by the border).
  • A monster that knocks the hero out no longer vanishes: it talks and keeps walking.

Notices

  • The Stopwatch was removed.
  • Christmas and Easter stay off for now; only Halloween shows up.
  • With a supporter head picked, state reactions do not show up (only lightning).

0.6.0

The hero comes to life: it shows what it did while you were away, reacts to clicks, really chops trees and mines rocks, and visits rare places. You can also take your progress to another computer.

New

  • While you were away: when you look again, a card shows what the hero did: monsters defeated, fishing trips, herbs, coins, rare events, levels and achievements. It only shows up if something happened and you spent a while without looking. To "look", keep the mouse still over the hero or click it.
  • A hero that grabs your attention: with news to show, it waves or jumps now and then.
  • Hero reactions: click it and it waves, scratches its head, laughs, does a facepalm, shakes its arm or jumps. When it levels up, it celebrates.
  • Export and import your progress: in Settings, Erase. Take the hero to another computer with a file. When importing, a copy of the current progress is kept first.
  • The hero notices critters: when a critter shows up, it turns to look and scratches its head or laughs.
  • Rare places: passing by Tombs, Rune shrine, Old outpost or Watchtower, the hero stops and looks. At the Tombs the epitaph of an old hero of yours shows up; at the Shrine, a glow of runes; at campfires, it sometimes kneels and rests a bit. The list of places visited lives in the Sheet.
  • Guardians: at the Old outpost and the Shrine, a legendary or mythic Ogre or Demon sometimes wakes up to fight. In every fight against a legendary or mythic monster the hero notices its arrival.
  • Nicer sleeping: at night the hero always lies down with the new animation and breathes slowly, with a zZz floating above.
  • Bestiary with memory: each monster shows when you first met it, and the new "Critters spotted" list keeps the critters that passed along the path.
  • New icon: the app icon and the system tray icon changed.
  • New alarm clock: the alarm clock of one of the endings got the new art (with a viking helmet).

Improved

  • Cleaner HUD: the game no longer shows the icon and time of the action the hero is doing (nor the fishing countdown). Nobody knows how long is left, and actions feel more natural and full of surprise.
  • Clearer settings: what is picked (background, theme, frame, head and focus mode) now shows as marked, with a golden frame and a check mark.
  • Real chopping and mining: the hero only chops a tree or mines a rock when it walks by one (it is no longer random). It stops, works, and the tree becomes a small stump and the rock becomes rubble.
  • Herbs and potions: an herb now restores 3 health (was 5). A potion restores 30 (was 60) and is made with 20 herbs and 4 coins (was 10 and 4). Weapon forging also uses more herbs (6 to 18 per forge, before 3 to 6).
  • Installer: the Windows installer art now uses the new look of the game.

Notices

  • With Focus mode on, the card shows smaller and more discreet, and the hero does not wave.
  • Importing replaces the current progress and restarts the game.

0.5.0

The whole game with a new look: a single hero, new monsters and scenery, little scenes along the way, plus better focus, themes and a backup of your progress.

New

  • A single hero: the companion is now one hero who changes weapon (sword, bow or spear) and glow according to rarity. It chops wood, mines, runs, fishes and sleeps at night.
  • New monsters: 11 monsters with new art. Rare, epic, legendary and mythic ones get a soft pulsing aura.
  • Scenes along the way: camps, ruins, towers, tombs and ponds show up with purpose instead of scattered objects. Buildings stay on the horizon, away from the hero.
  • New heads for supporters: seven heads to pick from in Style. They replace the hero's helmet.
  • Complete focus: a log per day, streak, weekly goal, a chest with a prize, automatic pomodoro and statistics with charts. There is also Calm focus, with less movement and no sound effects.
  • New themes: Spring, Desert, Sunset and Full moon, each with its own sky and weather. Autumn gets falling leaves and Winter gets snow.
  • Special dates: Halloween, Christmas and Easter decorations, critters and trees.
  • Progress backup: an automatic copy every day and a button to make one now, in Settings, Erase.
  • Share: weekly summary and tombstone cards, copied or saved as an image.
  • A caring companion: once a day it comments on your usage habit, never scolding.
  • Multi-monitor: the game remembers which screen and position you left the window in.

Improved

  • New interface: stone frames, new health and XP bars, a smaller level badge and blue settings.
  • Tombstones and endings: the old tombstones stay. There are now 12 endings, with new art on several. When defeated, the hero leaves a pile of skulls.
  • Scenery critters: frog, rat, crow, bunny and sheep with new art.
  • Scenery: ground without white borders, dark ponds and nordic trees.
  • Light: in normal use the game takes about 1% of the processor.

Fixed

  • Fishing: the hero now stands at the right height by the pond.
  • Campfire: the flame is no longer flattened.

Notices

  • Your progress, weapons and endings carry over. The old characters (Pawn, Warrior, Archer and Lancer) gave way to the single hero, who uses the equipped weapon.
  • If you have 0.4.1 with "Update automatically" on, you get this version by yourself. Otherwise, download it with the button in the About tab.
  • Windows still shows the unsigned app warning. Click More info and then Run anyway.
  • A big, new version: if something looks odd, tell us in Contact on the website.

0.4.1

A notice about what is new after updating, an "always on top" option for Linux and tweaks to the Linux packages.

New

  • News after updating: when you open the game after an update, the About tab shows "You updated to version X" with a "See what changed" button, and a little dot appears on the gear.
  • News page: now linked from the game About tab and from the website menu.
  • Linux: X11 mode (optional): in Style, the "Always on top (X11 mode)" option restarts the game on X11, where "always on top" works (on Wayland the system does not allow it). It comes turned off.

Fixed

  • Linux: the window and the icon now match the app shortcut in the taskbar.

Notices

  • This version is also a test of the automatic update: if you have 0.4.0 you can turn on "Update automatically" in the About tab, or download the new version with the button that shows up there.

0.4.0

The first complete version: endings and a graveyard, support by Pix or card with cosmetics, renewed fishing, a livelier scenery, a Windows installer and Linux builds.

New

  • Bury your companion: 17 random endings, each with its own scene, tombstones and a graveyard with the endings you have discovered.
  • Support the project by Pix (any amount) or card (fixed amounts from R$ 5 to R$ 150). From R$ 15 you get a code that unlocks all cosmetics forever.
  • Supporter cosmetics: 6 window frames, scenery themes (autumn and winter) and 8 hairstyles for the hero (Warrior, Archer and Lancer).
  • Renewed fishing: the body stays still, the fish nibbles now and then, the hero colors match and the hairstyles show up while fishing too.
  • A livelier scenery: decorations and trees spread over the whole ground (the hero walks in front of and behind them), swaying trees and monsters that say funny things while the hero recovers.
  • About and support: version, update notice, automatic update (optional), links and credits.
  • A guided Windows installer that looks like the game.
  • Linux: AppImage and .deb package.
  • Contact and Study and focus highlighted on the website.

Improved

  • Style and audio now share one tab; "Advanced" became "Erase"; the hero hairstyle lives in the Profile.
  • The Soldier now looks the right way.
  • Campfires only show up behind the hero, the sheep always stays in front of the rocks, nothing spawns on top of the pond and decorations no longer stack up.

Fixed

  • Window frames were not showing up.
  • On Linux, the .deb package did not open the window from the menu (the AppImage and the .deb were rebuilt).

Notices

  • On Windows the app does not have a digital signature yet: if you see "Windows protected your PC", click More info and then Run anyway.
  • On Linux the version is new and lightly tested. On Wayland "always on top" does not work (a system limit).
